  • Owls do have eyeballs, but they are not like human eyeballs.
  • Owl eyes are quite different in structure and function compared to human eyes.
  • One of the notable features of owl eyes is that they are large and take up a significant portion of their skull.
  • These large eyes are adapted for excellent night vision and hunting in low-light conditions.
  • Owls have a tubular eye shape, which allows for more focused light collection.
  • This shape helps them gather and concentrate light, enhancing their ability to see in the dark.
  • Additionally, owl eyes are fixed in their sockets and cannot move independently.
  • To compensate for this lack of mobility, owls have highly flexible necks that can rotate up to 270 degrees, enabling them to turn their heads to look around without moving their bodies.
  • So while owls do have eyeballs, their eye structure and adaptations are quite different from those of humans.
  • These adaptations make owls some of the most efficient nocturnal predators in the animal kingdom.
