  • South Africa has three capital cities, each serving a different purpose within the country’s government structure:
    1. Pretoria (Tshwane): Pretoria is the administrative capital of South Africa. It is where the executive branch of the government, including the President’s official residence, the Union Buildings, and various government departments, is located.
    2. Bloemfontein (Mangaung): Bloemfontein is the judicial capital of South Africa. It houses the Supreme Court of Appeal, which is the highest court of appeal in the country. This city is also the capital of the Free State province.
    3. Cape Town: Cape Town is the legislative capital of South Africa. It is where the Parliament of South Africa convenes, and it is the seat of the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces. Cape Town is also the capital of the Western Cape province.
